Dear Friends,
Passover is now behind us. The Second Seder was wonderful. So many children and families to share the holiday. And Rabbi Davis even had the orange on the Seder plate. Thank you to Claudia Blackburn, the Ritual Committee and the newly official Congregation chefs, Scott Redler and Les Padzensky.
If you haven’t yet responded to the Caring Committee Volunteer Survey (in the April Ruach), please take a minute to fill it out and return it to Doris Weller. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. The Board decided that the Caring Committee should be added to the Contributions list in the Ruach. Please consider a donation to the Caring Committee. Donations will be used to purchase flowers, food, and any other needs of our congregants. Please make your checks payable to Congregation Emanu-El and indicate that they are for the Caring Committee. The Board put $200.00 in the fund to get it started.
The Family Committee has been hard at work. Margot Kelman reports that several new programs are planned. If you would like to help, please call her.
Congratulations to Evy and Harold Gregg on the marriage of their son, Adam, to Jenny Winans.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Howard and Rose Marcus and their family. Their daughter, Bonnie Marcus, will be long remembered by her Wichita community.
It was a special treat to have Lois and Tom Ruby in town. Lois continues to bring writing workshops for teachers, writers, and kids across Kansas.
As we continue to celebrate the holidays and simchas with friends, family and community, we will create a strong Jewish foundation for ourselves and our children. Thank you to the Congregation for your involvement and support.
Shalom, Leah Barnhard
